The Engagement Module is supported by a generous charitable contribution from Avantor.
Building a lasting culture of sustainability in the lab, where people are empowered to make choices that best sustain themselves and their work, takes creativity, time, clear communication, and the freedom to question our own behavior and to choose to do something different. How do we successfully empower and inspire scientists to modify their habits and try something new? That’s what this module is all about!
Lasting impact goes beyond changing the behavior of a few individuals – it requires embedding sustainability into the cultural fabric of an organization. When done right, engaging a team in sustainability can lead to greater employee satisfaction by ensuring a greater connection to an organization’s purpose while fostering innovation among team members.
With this module we’ll peer into the science behind human behavior change so you can successfully engage your peers and/or colleagues in sustainability. We’ll discuss typical barriers and how to overcome them and share case studies on what has worked for successful green lab programs worldwide.
